When making an order for a door, replacement door, or designing a room: it is important to know the correct door handing in order to properly complete the project. Review this chart to identify which type of door handing you may need for your project.

Take Note:
  • Doors and door assembly are described from the outside going in. (Where the key goes)
  • Left and Right refer to the swing direction of the door. (The same side as the hinge)
  • Reverse describes doors that swing backwards/outside
  • An active door describes the door with the key assembly in a double door setup
